I would say Tottenham Court Road, after visiting several stores I came away with a camcorder plus extras for £300 less than the recommended retail price.

Jessops on New Oxford Street is probably one of the largest Jessops stores in London. If you live in West London then perhaps the Jessops in Westfield shopping centre is the best. The problem is that Jessops do tend to sell at slightly inflated prices.
The person who recommended Tottenham Court Road is clever, there are a lot of camera stores down there but you do have to know a little about what your talking about and be prepared to shop about and barter.
The only place to buy a camera for me is in Jessops. I recently purchases a d-slr from the Jessops in central London. They have superb customer service and offer you tons of help. I’d definitely recommend it. Here is the address:
