How to work the pre-composition setting on a digital camera?
I have a sanyo digital camera and it comes with a pre-composition setting. It doesn’t come with instructions about the settings, it just says that with this setting I can preset the background and take a picture of someone and it will place them in the background. When I take a picture it shows the background but then disappears when I take another.

The only feature that sounds similar is the background alignment feature on some cameras.
What I think you expect it to do: Take a picture of a scenic background, then take a picture of a person, the camera will then insert the person into the background picture.
What I think it actually does: Set up and take a picture so it is exactly as you would like to to be framed (e.g. where you an a friend wish to be photographed), the picture will then exist on the edges of the screen, so that when you give the camera to SOMEONE ELSE they can look at the background frame and set up the picture they are about to take so it matches.
I’m not sure if this is what your camera does – but it’s the closest feature I can think of.
